Drone roof inspections
Photographs of tiles and slates, ridges, chimney stacks and flashing, gutters, fascias and soffits, flat roofs and general storm wear.
Local coverage / Newcastle upon Tyne
See your roof clearly before you agree to repairs. We photograph slopes, chimneys, ridges and gutters from the air and give you a plain account of what's visible. We don't sell roof repairs, so you get an independent view.
01 Why a visual assessment
A street-level view may not show the rear roof slopes, valleys between roofs, chimney flashing or guttering. Drone photographs can help show visible details in areas that are difficult to inspect from the ground.
A drone inspection gives you close, clear photographs of those areas without anyone going up a ladder just to look. You can then decide, with evidence, whether to call a roofer, get another quote, or simply keep an eye on it.
It's especially useful when you have:
03 Neighbourhood coverage
We cover the Newcastle districts below. These enquiry tips help you explain what needs checking; they are not claims about the condition or construction of any particular property.
For an enquiry in these districts, include your postcode and identify the roof slopes, chimney or guttering you would like photographed. Mention any parts that cannot be seen from the ground.
If your roof adjoins another property or access is shared, explain which parts belong to your property and who can arrange access. This helps us understand the inspection you need.
If you want a second opinion on proposed roofing work, describe the repair being suggested and the visible concern. We can discuss an independent visual assessment without selling you roof repairs.
Tell us whether the enquiry includes an extension, garage, outbuilding or commercial roof as well as the main building. Send any existing photos through the optional attachment field on our enquiry form.
Just over the river or further out? See Gateshead, North Tyneside, Northumberland or the full coverage directory.

Flights depend on weather, local airspace and site conditions, and we confirm these before any visit. We don't carry out repairs, so any work identified is yours to arrange with a contractor of your choice.
06 Newcastle questions
In many cases, yes. The drone photographs the roof slopes, ridge, chimney and gutters from the air, so nobody needs to climb up just to look. Whether a flight is possible on a particular street depends on the site, nearby obstructions and the weather on the day, which we check when arranging the visit.
We can show you what is visible and point out where the photographs support, or do not obviously support, the work described. Because we don't sell or carry out repairs, there is nothing for us to gain either way. We can't confirm hidden defects, so some items may still need investigation by a roofer from close up.
We cover Newcastle upon Tyne, including Jesmond, Heaton, Gosforth, Fenham, Byker, Benwell, Walker, Kenton, Westerhope, Newburn, Lemington, Denton Burn, Elswick and Walkergate. If you're in another part of the city, send your postcode and we'll confirm.
A visual inspection can show likely external entry points, such as slipped slates, cracked flashing or blocked gutters, near where water is appearing inside. It can't prove where water travels within the roof structure, so we describe what we see rather than guarantee the cause.
Yes. It helps to tell us whether you share the roof with a downstairs flat or neighbours, and whether they know about the inspection. Images of a shared roof will naturally show both halves.
No. It is an independent visual assessment of the external roof and high-level areas. It doesn't replace a structural engineer, a RICS building survey or an internal inspection where one is needed.
